About the company

French Dressing Jeans Inc., which everyone calls FDJ, describes itself as "a women's denim and apparel company based in Montreal, Canada" with "over forty years of expertise designing for women of all ages, shapes and sizes." The same page says the company was early to add stretch to jeans, which it calls an industry first, and that it adjusts its fits to flatter different body types rather than cutting one shape and grading it up.

Why we carry it

Because the fits are named and they stay consistent. Once a customer knows she's a Suzanne, she can come back next spring and ask for a Suzanne in a new colour without trying on six pairs. That kind of repeatability is rare in denim and it's exactly what our customers want from us: less shopping, more wearing.

The Pull-On line deserves its own mention. No button, no fly, a flat waistband that looks like a regular jean under a top, and the comfort of a legging. It's the jean we hand to anyone who says "I don't wear jeans anymore."

How the fits differ

FDJ's own fit names describe the shape of the body they're cut for, not just the leg. In the fitting room the practical difference is where the waist sits and how much room there is through the hip and thigh. We keep more than one fit in stock so you can try two side by side, which is the only reliable way to choose.

Ask before you drive

FDJ sizes and colours sell through and are restocked by season. If you want a particular fit and size, call (905) 627-1150 and we'll check the rack. If you already own a pair, tell us the fit name on the label.
