What we carry
We're a clothing shop with a footwear wall, not a shoe store, and we buy accordingly: a few styles each season that we'd wear ourselves, in the sizes our customers wear. Spring and summer bring sandals, from flat to a low wedge. Fall and winter bring boots: ankle boots that work with a straight jean, and warmer styles for a Dundas January. Year-round there are everyday shoes, the comfortable flat or low heel that finishes an outfit.
Why buy shoes where you buy the outfit
Because you can try them together. A sandal that looks right on its own can be wrong with the dress; a boot that's perfect with a slim jean can be heavy under a wide pant. If you've found the outfit here, we'll bring the shoe that goes with it to the fitting room. That's the whole advantage of a small shop.
Fit, honestly
- Feet change. The size you wore at 30 is a starting point, not an answer. Try the size up before you decide.
- Shop in the afternoon. Feet swell through the day; a shoe that fits at 4 pm fits all day.
- Straps beat slides for anyone who has ever had a sandal come off on a step.
- A low wedge is kinder than a heel and dressier than a flat. It's the sandal we recommend most often.
