Women's clothing

Clothes for the life you actually live

Dresses, tops, jeans, pants and jackets, chosen for women who want to look put together and be comfortable at the same time. Most of it is Canadian.

What's on the racks

How we choose what's on the racks

Every piece in the shop is bought by Colleen with a specific customer in mind: a woman between roughly 40 and 80 who has stopped dressing to impress anyone and started dressing to feel like herself. In practice that means we look for four things.

  • Fabric that behaves. Stretch where you move, structure where you want it, and nothing that needs ironing after every wash.
  • Fit that forgives. Higher rises, elastic that doesn't dig, sleeves that cover, necklines that flatter without needing a camisole under them.
  • Colour and print with some life in it. Black is fine. Black is not the only option.
  • A label that will still be around next year, so when you love something you can come back for it in another colour.

The labels

Two Montreal denim houses, FDJ French Dressing and Carreli Jeans, cover most of the jeans and pants. Baba is the cotton jacket everyone asks about. Papa Fashions and Papillon come from the Vancouver side of the country and bring the tops, tunics and prints. Soya Concept is the Danish label for knits, blouses and easy layers. The full list, with what each one is good at, is on the brands page.

Sizing, honestly

Sizes are not consistent between brands, and they're not consistent within a brand from one season to the next. A 12 in one line is a 14 in another. This is why we'd rather you try things on than order a number. If you can't get in, phone us with the brand and size of something that already fits you and we'll translate.

What's in the shop right now

Stock turns over with the season, and the summer edit on our home page and our Instagram show recent arrivals. For anything specific, call. We'll check the rack while you're on the line.
