Jockey
We still carry Jockey in the shop. Not many independent stores do, and it's one of the most common phone calls we get. Amarettos in Dundas keeps Jockey women's cotton briefs and everyday basics on the floor, so you can see the style before you buy it and come back for the same one next year.

About the brand
Jockey is one of the oldest underwear names in North America. The company was founded in 1876 by Samuel T. Cooper in St. Joseph, Michigan, is now headquartered in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and famously sold the world's first briefs at Marshall Field's in Chicago on January 19, 1935. (History summarised from the Jockey International entry on Wikipedia; the company's own site is jockey.com.)
Why "in store" matters
In Canada, Jockey's in-store presence today is mostly the big chains and online (its own store locator is the place to check). If you've been buying the same Jockey brief for twenty years and the store you bought it from stopped carrying it, that's why. We still stock it, on a shelf, in a shop, where you can see the style and take it home the same day. For a lot of our customers that's the whole reason they come in.
What we stock
Women's briefs in cotton and cotton-blend, in the everyday cuts (full brief, hipster and similar) that our customers wear, plus basics as they come in. Styles and sizes vary by delivery. If you know your style name and size from the package, call (905) 627-1150 and we'll tell you if it's on the shelf today. If we don't have it, we'll tell you that too.
Buying it for your mother
Underwear is a gift people are shy about and shouldn't be. If she's always worn Jockey, a multi-pack in her size and style is one of the most useful things you can put under a tree. Bring the label from a pair she owns, or photograph the package. More on buying for your mother.
