Bras

A bra that fits, from someone who'll help

Wonderbra and Bali, in the styles our customers wear every day, with professional bra fittings done in the shop rather than a size guessed at online.

What we carry

  • Everyday t-shirt bras, smooth cups that disappear under a knit top.
  • Minimizers, for a fuller bust that wants a lower profile under a blouse or jacket.
  • Wireless and soft-cup bras, for women who are done with underwire.
  • Full-coverage and support styles with wider straps and taller sides.
  • Strapless and low-back bras, for the tops and dresses that need them.

Sizes and styles on the floor change with deliveries. If you're after a specific style or size, call (905) 627-1150 and we'll check.

Wonderbra: a Canadian invention

Most people don't know Wonderbra is from Montreal. In 1939 Moe Nadler founded the Canadian Lady Corset Company there to make a well-fitting, good quality bra in the mid-priced range, and in the early 1960s designer Louise Poirier developed the plunge push-up design that later went around the world. In 2007 the CBC ranked the Wonderbra fifth among the greatest Canadian inventions. (History summarised from the Wonderbra entry on Wikipedia; the brand has been owned by Gildan Activewear since its purchase of HanesBrands in December 2025.) In our shop, Wonderbra is the everyday and support end of the rack.

Bali

Bali has been making bras since 1927, when Sara Stein founded the company as Fay-Miss, and it sits under the same HanesBrands family as Wonderbra (Bali on Wikipedia). Bali is where we go for comfort styles: wireless, smoothing, and the minimizers that customers ask for by name.

What changes after 50

The bra that was right at 45 is often wrong at 60, and it isn't the bra's fault. Bodies change, and the band size that used to be right is now too loose, which is why the straps are doing all the work and digging in. Much of the fitting we do is moving someone to a snugger band and a larger cup, and switching to a style with wider straps and more side coverage. It's a short fix that people put off for years. Our full guide to a comfortable bra after 50 walks through it.

How a fitting works here

No tape measure theatre. You tell us what you're wearing and what bothers you about it. We bring three or four options to the fitting room. You try them with your own top back on, because that's how you'll actually wear it. We adjust from there. Bring the top or dress you're shopping for if there's a specific outfit involved.
